Hana Bressler- Teacher and Director
Hana (She/Her) trained at Fiddleheads Forest School in Seattle, (another wonderful all-outdoors school) before moving back to Portland to be closer to her family and start her own forest school in 2020. As a teacher, she loves helping children feel at home in nature, listening to their creative ideas, making forts, and laughing at the jokes that her students make up. Her teacher passions include art, play theory, sensory needs, neurodiversity, and the science of early literacy.
Hana was raised in a big family that loved books and adventures. Since early childhood, she has lived a significant amount of her life overseas (in Central Africa, Central America, and the Middle East.) She still loves to travel but, after finishing her master’s degree in England in 2017, is happy to stay put a while and call the PNW home.
Angelina Galvan - Lead Co-Teacher
Born in California, Angelina (She/Her) holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Though she has a lot of experience in childcare, she spent the past three years doing outdoor research and leading groups of kids in a nature preserve. Angelina is passionate about nature and loves helping children discover their strengths.
Emily Salisbury — Support Staff Teacher
Emily (She/Her) holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Portland and has been teaching preschool for 9 years. Her last 5 years were spent at Friendly House, a non-profit community center and play-based school in NW Portland. Emily truly enjoys working with children and loves encouraging them to be curious, creative, and true to themselves. She focuses on social-emotional development in her teaching and also promotes creating art with a variety of mediums and objects.
Emily grew up living on 40 acres in Southern Oregon and had the opportunity to explore the woods, nearby creek, and meadow with her siblings. She is excited to be a part of an outdoor preschool program that allows children to explore nature so freely.
During her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with family, baking, and creating art - painting, digital art, and photography.
